construction

The Julep Cami is worked bottom-up in the round, with no seams, beginning with an italian tubular cast-on and 1x1 ribbing at the hem. The body is worked in stockinette stitch, using stranded colorwork to add colorful dashes throughout. The v neckline is made by placing some stitches on hold while working 1 triangle at a time, decreasing at each side. The front two triangles are finished with an I-Cord strap. Then the next number of stitches are picked up, repeating for 4 total triangles. The straps on the front 2 triangles are grafted to the back 2 triangles with kitchener stitch.

  • This is a written pattern assuming intermediate knitting knowledge and is not intended to be beginner friendly. Supplemental research or practice to learn new skills may be required to complete this project.

This pattern requires a working knowledge of: knitting & purling both flat & in the round, decreasing, stranded colorwork, i-cord, kitchener stitch, and reading a simple chart.

Circular needles are used to work in the round for the body, then split to work flat for the top triangles. The straps are then grafted together.

Cast-on methods suggested in this pattern are able to be substituted with any other method.
